Abstract
It is desirable to investigate changes in vibration characteristics of pedestrian bridges to evaluate the seismic performance of corroded pedestrian bridges. This paper presents evaluation results of vibration characteristics of corroded pedestrian bridge by Kugenuma seaside. First, traffic vibration tests, free vibration tests and excitation tests using a small vibrator were performed to investigate the vibration characteristics of the pedestrian bridge. Next, eigenvalue analysis using a beam model of the pedestrian bridge was performed, and the analytical results were compared with the vibration test results. From these results, effects of structural corrosion on the vibration characteristics of the pedestrian bridge were clarified.
