Abstract
It is generally accepted that corrugation development on a circumference of a disk with rotating contact each other is caused due to time lag effect. In this paper, the formed polygonal numbers with the rotation speed of the disk is discussed numerically. The stability boundaries for such like a pattern formation are also examined by comparing the numerical results with the eigenvalue analysis. Each number of polygons, natural frequency, has the unstable region with the rotation speed of the disk. From the numerical results, it is pointed out that the polygonal number shifts during the corrugation development, depending on the amplitude distribution on the circumference, the phase difference between the contact force fluctuation and corrugated surface.
