Abstract
This paper deals with a seismic isolation mechanism for stay-supported tower crane. The stay-supported tower crane is excited by not only its base but also the building connected with stays. A two-dimensional stay isolator was developed using links and gear mechanism and provides springs and damper in it and is effective in reducing the influence of vibration of building. As the results of experiments, it was verified that the seismic response of the stay-supported tower crane is reduced to a lower value with the stay isolator.
