Abstract
The connected control method (CCM) has attracted attention as a new control method for vibration of high-rise buildings. The effectiveness of CCM by connecting conventional structures has already been established in previous studies. This study deals with the effectiveness of CCM by connecting conventional structure with base isolated structure. By connecting them, the vibration reduction effect for the conventional structure subjected to ordinary earthquake and the effect for base isolated structure subjected to long-period earthquake are expected to be modified simultaneously. Two buildings structure arranged in parallel is introduced as a control object. To confirm the reduction effect of vibration, passive control experiments using earthquake excitations are carried out, and the effectiveness of presented method is shown.
