Abstract
To establish estimation method of deformability about erythrocytes using a mechanical model, we introduce the two elements' viscoelastic model with two degrees of freedom. The corresponding displacement and deformation of erythrocytes in an oscillating flow field are obtained by image data. To estimate deformability, the spring constants and the viscous damping coefficients are identified based on the mechanical model and experimental data. To verify the estimation method, experiments using mouse erythrocytes with glutaraldehyde of different concentrations are carried out. The identified results are identical with previous research and it is found that the proposed method can estimate deformability of erythrocytes. Moreover, the dependency of the oscillating frequencies in estimation method is discussed.
