Abstract

In a structure composed of a frame and a panel, the panel vibration induced by frame vibration causes radiation, and correspondingly the reduction of vibration transmission from a frame to a panel is strongly desired. In recent years, vibration analysis is often performed by the finite element method, and various evaluation methods have been proposed. However, although it is possible to grasp the problematic vibration mode and the magnitude of the response from these results, it is actually the case that there is no effective evaluation method clearly showing the guideline of the structural change for vibration reduction. In order to formulate structural change guidance while understanding the physical meaning, it is possible to think of a method to introduce a wave perspective into vibration analysis. We showed a method to visualize the vibration transmission from a frame to a panel and to identify the part with high contribution to the evaluation point response. As a visualization method, the vibration transmission from a frame was considered as a sum of multiple point wave sources. Therefore, we proposed the replacement of original sources by virtual sources which indicate the contribution of each source to the response of an evaluation point. In the structural change for vibration reduction using this method, slits were inserted into the part where the contribution was large, and consequently the wave propagation was interdicted. Finally, it was confirmed that a large vibration response was easily reduced by the proposed visualization.
