Abstract

By moving on a very long cable installed in a large structure such as a skyscraper, inspection and maintenance can be facilitated. In order to extend the lifetime of such a device, an actuator capable of ascending and descending without mechanical contact is required. Therefore, this research group proposes an actuator using a linear induction motor that ascends and descends a uniform cable with a conductor as a reaction plate. As fundamental studies of the actuator proposed in this research, electromagnetic field analysis was performed on a cylindrical linear induction motor, and the use as an actuator for elevation was examined from the thrust characteristics that can be exerted.
