Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to build a selection index for golf clubs. By investigating the effect of the club on its swing motion, derived evaluation indices for selecting golf clubs suitable for the user. The subjects of the study were six experienced golfers. Swing motion and the three-dimensional information of each part of the human body was recorded with twelve motion capture cameras and three clubs with different characteristics. By using three-dimensional information, whole body markers were analyzed, and the change in the swing motion of each club was examined. Focusing on the swing variation from club to club, sum of standard deviations was used. And focusing on ballistics, deflection width was used. Here, the deflection width indicates the lateral deviation between landing point and the linear axis. The analysis was performed by comparing sum of standard deviations and deflection width. As a result, the relationship between sum of standard deviations and deflection width for the swing motion was shown.
