NDT of structure damage is an important and unsolved problem. This paper introduces a new method of feature extraction using a wavelet packet transform. The feature extraction procedure is given. The proposed method is tested using an example and the result of classification is compared with MAC feature. Experimental results show that the proposed method is very effective, especially under noisy conditions.
