Abstract
In the context of structural shape design, the target structural shape should be that under working load. The homology design is a typical example which pays attention to the deformed structural shape. This report discusses a structural design problem that retrieves the specified profile of continuum structure existing under working load. The optimal structural design problem is formulated as a relaxed version of the homology design, and it permits the trimming operation only, i.e. the reduction of structural material from the initial shape of the existing structure. The algorithm of shape modification process by trimming for the structure under operation is also proposed. The proposed idea is confirmed through a numerical case.
