Abstract
CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) and CAO (Computer Aided Optimization) have been widely used in development and design process of products in automotive and aerospace industry etc. The object of this study is FEM based mode analysis of a stamping member with hut section, and the goal is to search an optimum design to get maximum eigenvalue of a target mode with limited reinforced materials. In this paper, a special problem definition for optimization is proposed by defining the number of 45 reinforced elements as design variables, and a new approach is proposed by using Multi-Island GA to search a global optimum design.
