Abstract
The automation, optimization and robust design have been widely used in the engine performance design using one-dimensional simulation. In this paper, application examples of VVT (variable valve timing) engine design problem are reported by using multi-objective optimization approach such as weight factor method and multi-objective GA. In addition, a new approach on multi-objective optimization is proposed for series engine design problem with multi ending speed by using mluti-task system. This system has a main task and 6 subtasks regarding to 6 kinds of engine speed, where each subtask has a set of independent design variables on VVT optimization problem.
