Abstract
A new Computer Aided Engineering Concept in the early design phase (First Order Analysis) has been proposed. A tool based on the concept is customized to each product including specific knowledge. Design engineers can easily estimate qualitative performance using the tool. The model mainly consists of beam elements. However joint stiffness is necessary since it cannot be modeled using beam elements. In this paper, we present the simplified model of a joint structure based on the reduction technique and try to calculate an optimal joint stiffness using Radial Basic Function Network and Adaptive Range Genetic Algorithms.
