In recent years, the development of the new technology of optoelectronics enable us to have it possible to a practical, compact and high power laser, thereby making technique for nondestructive inspection also has received much attention. The acoustic emission and ultrasonic inspection by laser have been reported. The objective of this paper is to examine the latest studies on nondestructive inspection by laser, and to present technical problems with applicability for nondestructive inspection for oil storage tank.
