In recent years, an aluminum alloy double skin structure has been utilized for a car body of a high-speed railway vehicle. It is therefore very important for the design and the structural analysis to identify the equivalent elastic parameters of the aluminum alloy double skin structure. In the identification, the experimental modal analysis technique, 3D-CAD and the finite element method are used. Firstly, by applying the experimental modal analysis technique, natural frequencies and mode shapes of the aluminum alloy double skin structure are obtained. Secondly, natural frequencies and mode shapes are estimated by the finite element method with 3D-CAD. Finally, the equivalent elastic parameters of the aluminum alloy double skin structure are identified.
