Abstract
Microsurgery training using a rat or other animals has been essential for both novices and skilful surgeons, which would be hard to execute under the current circumstances. Instead of using animals, a virtual microsurgery training system is proposed and precise three-dimentional motion tracking system has been developed in this paper. Motion tracking achieved by calculating an orientation of an operating tool from two images of tool's shadows generated by two parallel ray optical systems crossed at right angles.
