Abstract
Diverse satisfactory design ideas of form and structure must be obtained under the constraint of unclear design conditions in conceptual and preliminary design. Designers depend on either their experience or their knowledge for obtaining diverse ideas. In the past study, we proposed an emergent design method that was able to obtain the diverse solution candidates was proposed. In the present study, this system was applied to development of the artificial hip aiming at the construction of the emergent design system that generates diverse three dimension form based on the proposal method. The possibility of utilizing this system for the artifact design is shown by comparing with the solutions derived from this system and past optimization method.
