Abstract
In this paper, a simple and efficient numerical method to connect two plates by spot welding in the finite element analysis is presented. By only given the finite element mesh of two plates to connect and coordinate of the connection points, constraint equations to express the connection in the spot welding are generated. Based on the present method the computer module has been developed to generate the constraint equations for spot welding. Numerical examples are demonstrated.
