There are many ways to evaluate stiffness of automobile body in white. Widely used evaluation methods are torsional stiffness and bending stiffness. These methods are effective when comparing each other on the same basis, but the car which has more stiffness does not always have good drivability. In order to optimize stiffness of body in white, allocation of stiffness is important. In this paper, in order to understand the deformation in detail, we propose a method to separate stiffness into three components, which are bending, torsional and strains using concept of deformation gradient tensor. Then using mutual mean compliance, we will analyze which part of the body will reduce amount of these components.
