An important process for the reuse and recycling of end of life products is their disassembly. In general, manual disassembly is a labor intensive and costly process. Especially, works for removing connection parts take time and cost. This paper proposes a design method for the disassembly of products with split-lines. The split-lines enable to destruct a product into desired shapes in order to extract target components for their reuse and recycling. This method classifies the components of the product into shells that surround the target component and adds split-lines on the shells. A case study showed that the dismantling of a LCD TV with split-lines reduces the number of manual processes needed for extracting a target component.
