Abstract
In recent years, the interest in environmental issues has increased Also the regulation of the law, such as the Home Appliance Recycling Law has also become stricter. Therefore designers are required to consider not only product performance but also whole product lifecycle. Until now, many studies about layout design have been made. Generally speaking, the conventional layout design method focuses on assemblabitiy and functionality but disassemblabily does not consider adequately This paper describes fastening optimization between components to improve disassemblability in the layout design. The purpose of fastening optimization is to determine the number of fastener and fastening method between the parts and to minimize disassembly time with fulfilling functions and assemblability of the product. In order to demonstrate the proposed method and confirm its effectiveness, this paper applies a laptop to cases study.
