Abstract

Variable damping force damper is commonly used in wide range of product such as vehicle and washing machine. MRF and ERF, these smart material can be applied to variable damping force damper. MRF is a kind of functional fluid which can response and change its viscosity by being exposed magnetic flux.(1)(2)(3) MRF is contented of iron particle and solvent such as silicon. Iron particle is quite small and diameter is several micro millimeters. MR damper is already use in ordinary car. Focus on the flow channel of MR damper, magnetic flux is not applied to the part of flow channel. As an improving method, it is possible to expose magnetic flux on the whole region in the flow channel by folding magnetic flux.
