In the steel bridge, temporary assemblies in shop-yard are usually carried out as one of many processes at the fabrication stage, but tend to omit shop assemblies from the viewpoint of improvement of the quality and the cost reduction of the bridge. And various joint and unwitnessed inspections are performed for securing of quality in shop assembly. Therefore, for shop assembly omission, it is indispensable to establish substituting the inspection procedure for the shop assembly inspection. So, the author developed the digital mock-up system for the inspection of finished work quality of the steel bridge, which contains a personal computer aided inspection based on the measurement data of individual components and members. In this study, the digital mock-up system was applied to the shop assembly inspection and the inspection of finished work quality of erection on site for the steel bridge, and its validity is verified. And the system is clarified to contribute to improvement of the quality and cost reduction.
