Use of multiphysics simulations in early stages of design is emphasized. To utilize those simulations to benefit conceptual design of a product, proper simulation model needs to be implemented. Aspects of a product and extent of a product to be modeled needs to be deliberated as the implementation of model requires much works, such as experiments for the physical modeling of components. This paper proposes a simplified model of a product and its environment for the purpose of specifying design problem which needs to be tested through multiphysics simulations.
