In recent years, the importance of the sensory value has been increasing due to the growing demand for spiritual fulfillment. In line with this trend, the sensory value has become more important than functional value in product development. Although the sensory value has been emphasized in product development, it is difficult to quantify the sensory value and has not yet been formulated. One of the sensory values of a product is an aesthetic preference for its appearance, and appearance evaluation is an important process in product development. Although efforts have been made to quantify the sensibility value of appearance evaluation using simulation, most of them are based on images, and it is still difficult to quantify the sensory value using videos. Therefore, this study focuses on the optical data and aesthetic preferences obtained from simulations and aims to quantify the aesthetic preferences using image features of videos. First, image features of videos and images are investigated and classified. Next, we propose an index for quantifying aesthetic preferences using the classified image features. Finally, we apply the proposed index to diamond videos and examine its applicability.
