Abstract
In recent years, social needs of the safety have been growing. It is much the same for elevator doors. However, since there are no safety devices that can detect the object in the form of string, there is possibility of accidents, for example, in case the elevator moves with a lead of dog stuck in the doors. "Door Edge Sensor" was developed in order to reduce these accidents. Although detection of high accuracy is required, we adopted laser sensor and designed the special parts including Reflector, Brush, Door Under Guard. As a result, this device can detect the string that has a diameter of 3mm or more in the full of opening height including the floor. It shall be realized that higher safety would be supplied in the market by using in conjunction with conventional safety devices of elevator doors.
