Abstract
Elevator system has various safety devices for safe travel. The overspeed governor is one of the safety devices and connected to the elevator car through governor rope. When it detects the excessive velocity of the car, it stop operation of the elevator. In the case of the governor rope is shaken by car vibration, the circumferential velocity of the governor might become higher than car velocity and then elevator car stops suddenly. In previous study, governor and governor rope were modeled by multibody dynamics and good simulation results were obtained for short path elevator. In this study, the model was improved in order to adapt for running along the long path.
