Abstract
Noise level in an elevator car is influenced by many factors, as one of the influence factors, the contacting frequencies of rope strands while the rope is passing some sheaves can be imagined. Further, as a common knowledge, the noise will be increased in case the various excitation frequencies coincide with the natural frequencies of the elevator system. In this study, we investigated the vibration and noise of some actual elevators and made the relationship between the noise in an elevator car and the contacting frequencies of rope strands clear.
