The electric power generated by partially transparent photovoltaic modules, which were used as the cover of a solar air collector, was supplied to a DC fan directly for letting the air flows through the collector in a hot air supply system. The fan suitable for the system was selected by considering the pressure loss of the air thorough the collector and the I-V characteristics of the PV modules. Provided by the I-V characteristics and relation between the power supplied to the fan and the flow rate, an analysis was made to predict the performance of the collector. The system operated satisfactorily. The analytical agreed fairly well with the experimental results.
