The air pollution by automobile exhaust gas is still serious in urban areas especially near roadside. The pedestrians sometimes suffer the direct blow of exhaust gases. The direct effect of exhaust gas will be softened by changing the shape of the car body and the position of exhaust pipe. In this study, numerical simulations were conducted to clarify the effect of body shape and the position of exhaust pipe on the pollutant concentration at sidewalk.
