Abstract
Utilizing wasted heat is a important issue to reduce primary fuel consumption. Because wasted heat sources are located far from heat demand, it is required to transport thermal energy efficiently. The objective of this study is to investigate the performance of heat transportation based on absorption heat pump mechanism with ammonia-water as the working fluid experimentally. The test rig incorporates 3 pipes with the length of 50m to transport the refrigerant and the solutions. The experiments verified that the heat transportation by the proposed system would be feasible and had the same COP as the case without solution transportation. Furthermore, dynamical simulation was conducted to predict the behavior of the proposed absorption system.
