A hydrogen-fueled propulsion system is expected to have higher power and lower emissions. A jet engine with hydrogen-fueled combustion within a turbine blade passage has been studied. However, to apply the system to practial use, there are problems of aerodynamic performance decrease and extreamly high surface temperature by hydrogen combustion. Meanwhile, a secondary flow can lead to 45% of all loss in a turbine stage. Hence, it is expected that three-dimensional design improve the aerodynamic performance of the hydrogen-fueled turbine. However, there is no knowledge how these three-dimensional designs affect on the flow characteristics of the hydrogen-combustion turbine. To clarify the effect of lean which is one of three-dimensional design techniques, three-dimensional numerical simulations based on RANS are carried out.
