Abstract
Unsteady aerodynamical effect of accelerated or decelerated two-dimensional airfoil(NACA0012) was numerically examined using a grid-free vortex method. The flow characteristics and aerodynamical force were compared among various acceleration or deceleration conditions. The results showed that flow separation occurred on the deceleration condition.Furthermore, the lift-to-drag ratio decreased at the acceleration and deceleration conditions.
