Abstract
The interaction of the reflected shock wave with the boundary layer behind the incident shock for helium/argon driver gas and argon or nitrogen driven gas in a single-pulse shock tube was investigated to understand effects of disturbance during a low-temperature ignition process using thin-film thermometry and high-speed schlieren photography. The investigations were carried out at Reflected shock conditions were as follows:temperatures of 591-1140 K,densities of 29-51 mol/m^3.The width of relatively homogeneous density distribution zone near the end wall of the shock tube is dependent on the maintenance distance of a laminar boundary layer behind the incident shock wave.
