This study is concerned with the turbulent structure of an axisymmetric boundary layer on a thin cylinder. Measurements were made by using hot-wire probes, and velocity distributions in the wall-normal direction and velocity correlations in the azimuthal direction were acquired. Boundary layer thickness Was manipulated with three types of tripping-ring array mounted downstream of the leading edge, and a ratio of the thickness to the radius of the cylinder varied from 0.23 to 0.63.
