In most cases the wind turbine development needs a wind tunnel which is required significant large expenditure. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is one of the tools to simulate the wind turbine characteristics. However, the three-dimensional analysis of CFD needs a long time to take the results. In this paper, the MEXICO rotor blades are calculated in two-dimension using Ansys Fluent. Then the performance of the wind turbine is predicted by the Blade Element Momentum (BEM) theory using the results of the lift and the drag coefficient calculated by the CFD. It is obtained that the power coefficient using BEM is very close to experimental data in the wind tunnel experiment.
