We have recently developed a low Reynolds-number quadratic nonlinear k-ε model with a near-wall damping function constructed on the basis of Ry (AMM model), with a view to predicting a turbulent separated flow. Here, Ry is the Reynolds number based on the turbulent kinetic energy k and the distance from the wall y. The present model has then been introduced into a fast CFD code for compressible flows ‘FaSTAR’ developed by JAXA. In this paper, we report results on the AMM model testing for several flows (i.e. a high Re turbulent boundary layer, a NACA0012 airfoil, and a high Re backward-facing step) of Turbulence Modeling Resource in NASA Langley Research Center. The present results underline that the AMM model has potential for predicting turbulent flows in aeronautical applications.
