Ionic liquids exhibit outstanding ability of carbon dioxide (CO2) absorption. Aiming at further CO2 higher absorption rate, we attempted to develop ionic liquid electrospray CO2 capture system in this study. Since electrospray generates ultrafine droplets, surface absorption reaction at the interface can be enhanced remarkably. Droplets of 200~1000 nm were successively generated by the electrospray, and the CO2 absorption amount integrated for 20 minutes increases by 220% by electrospray.
