Detonation is a phenomenon in which a shock wave and combustion progress while interacting in a mixture of fuel and oxidizer. In the mixed gas of fuel and oxidant flowing from one end of the cylindrical flow path, the phenomenon that detonation continuously propagates in the circumferential direction is called rotating detonation. Application of detonation to an internal combustion engine is theoretically expected to improve efficiency. The ultimate goal of this research is to apply rotating detonation to aviation ramjet engines. Problems toward practical application of rotating detonation include combustion stability, overheating of walls, use of liquid fuels. In order to investigate the issue, an engine for the basic test was constructed In this report we acquire the basic characteristics of the test facility and measure the rotating detonation.
