Abstract

The upper stage on rocket is placed in a microgravity condition during long-term coasting in outer space. In microgravity condition, the liquid is driven by the surface tension and rises along the wall of the propellant tank heated by sunlight. In this research, we aim to establish prediction technique of propellant behavior with wall heating under microgravity in propellant tank. In this paper, we observed dynamic wetting behavior with considering heat input under microgravity experiment and calculated CFD analysis. We will describe the results were compared and verified experimental results and CFD results.
