In one of the functional fluids is a magnetorheological fluid. The magnetorheological fluid is a fluid whose viscosity can be controlled by the applied magnetic field and expected to be applied in various fields.

In our laboratory, we have designed a viscosity measuring instrument which measures the change of viscosity accompanying the temperature change of the magnetorheological fluid. We studied the viscosity change of magnetorheological fluid with temperature change. As a result, it was found that the viscosity of the magnetorheological fluid changes by changing the temperature. But, Magnetorheological fluids of various constituent materials are used depending on the application. In this study, we will examine the viscosity change accompanying temperature change by changing constituent materials of magnetorheological fluid. We will clarify the change of the physical properties accompanying the temperature change of the magnetorheological fluid. As a result, diversification of applications of magnetorheological fluids in the future is expected.
