We performed direct numerical simulations of turbulent flow of solidifying liquid near a wall using the phase-field modelling in order to investigate the features of solidification structures. The solidification structures grew under the suppercooling condition with the influence of turbulent flow. As a result of the simulations, it was found that the structures aligned in the streamwise and spanwise directions, and the structure elements had a bent shape. The features of the elements in the solidification structures could change depending on the condition of turbulent flow such as the streamwise velocity. On the other hand, the fluctuation intensity of turbulence determined the characteristics of the distribution of the elements. According to the present results, we expect that turbulent flow affects the distribution of the residual stress inside solidified materials which is caused by the solidification structures.
