Magneto-rheological fluid is one of the functional fluids. When a magnetic field is applied from the outside, the particles form a chain structure called a cluster. As a result, the apparent viscosity can be changed. By applying this characteristic, it is considered to be applied to torque transmission devices such as clutches and brakes. However, magnetic viscous fluids have a problem that physical properties change due to temperature change. The quantitative relationships and mechanisms are not clear. In this study, we conducted a viscosity measurement experiment and a visualization experiment using the temperature of the magnetorheological fluid as a factor, and verified the temperature decrease of the magnetorheological fluid and its mechanism by changing the components of the magnetorheological fluid. The purpose is to clarify. As a result, it was found that the change in the viscosity of the magnetorheological fluid was related to the change in the flow area of the particles.
