Abstract
This paper deals with a methane gas diret injection two-stroke engine supposed future natural gas engine. The characteristics of a two-stroke engine are high power and high torque from low revolution range. But general two-stroke engines have problems of air pollution due to HC emission at scavenging process, and consumption of lubrication oil. This two-stroke engine with poppet valves and direct injection of fuel was improved from a four-stroke engine to prevent fuel blowing through the exhaust valves, and to improve lubricating oil consumption and discharge. As a result of experiment, stable combustion and operation had be got, but enough power had not be got. For this matter, adopting high pressure fuel injection and modification of combustion chamber are considered.
