The method which optimum gasket thickness for PEFC by measuring pressure drop is first reported in this paper. Optimal gasket thickness is evaluated by comparing prssure drop measured value with calculated value under operating condition of cell temperature 25℃, humidifier temperature 25℃, operation pressure 0.1 MPa. Results shows that pressure drop measured values under operating condition of cell temperature 25℃, humidifier temperature 25℃, operation pressure 0.1 MPa decreases with the increase in the gasket thickness and performance of PEFC under operating condition of cell temperature 80℃, humidifier temperature 80℃, operation pressure 0.1MPa is the best as using the gasket thickness that pressure drop measured value is nealy equal to calculated value under operating condition of cell temperature 25℃, humidifier temperature 25℃, operation pressure 0.1MPa.
