In this study, the distribution of microscopic stress around interlaminar areas of angle-ply carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates subjected to in-plane uniaxial tension is analyzed based on a homogenization theory. In this analysis, an analysis model for angle-ply CFRP laminates and its unit cell containing interlaminar areas are defined. Then, three kinds of laminate configurations, i.e., [±30°], [±45°] and [±60°] are considered. It is shown from the analysis results that microscopic shear stress noticeably occurs at the interlaminar areas irrespective of laminate configurations. It is also shown that the magnitude and distribution of such shear stress remarkably vary depending on the laminate configurations.
