In the gas circuit breaker, the SF6 gas, one of the greenhouse effect gases, is used for instantaneously intercepting the circuit and protecting the instrument when an abnormal current like lightning flows to electric power transmission line of high voltage transformation installation. Recently, CFD approaches for gas circuit breaker designing become important because of need to reduce the SF6 consumption. In this study, we numerically analyzed three-dimensional behavior of the high temperature SF6 gas in gas circuit breaker using CRIMSON(Civa RifIned Multiphase SimulasiON) with taking account of electric arc heating between fixed electrode and movable electrode.
