Abstract
Ignition delay times of Japanese commercial gasoline have been measured using a rapid compression machine at an equivalence ratio of 1.0 in temperature and pressure range of 692-889 K and 2.14-2.74 MPa, respectively. The vessel with gasoline injector for the generation of the premixed gasoline/O_2/N_2/CO_2 or Ar mixtures was prepared. The pressure profiles at 692 K and 889 K have a single-stage pressure rise, while the two-stage pressure rise was exhibited in temperature range of 720-801 K, which indicates that the oxidation mechanism in gasoline has low temperature chemistry. The ignition delay times of the gasoline decreased with increasing temperature over the entire temperature range, while those at around 790 K decreased slightly due to the low temperature oxidation.
