Abstract
Influence of considering geometrical nonlinearity on fracture behavior of quasi-brittle materials such as concrete is examined in this study. The fracture behavior is modeled by a damage model which is based on fracture mechanics for quasi-brittle material with the modified von-Mises criterion. The comparisons between finite deformation and small strain FE results show that the finite deformation analysis has an effect on fracture problems failing in shear mode under compressive loading.
