Based on CT images of the right upper limb of a Japanese adult male, the bone models, muscle models, and ligament models were developed. These models were integrated to construct the right upper limb model with a normal range of motion (85°pronation and 90°supination). CT images of the right arm at an arbitrary forearm rotation angle of the Japanese male were acquired. These CT image data were compared with the simulated results of the right upper limb model to determine the validity of the simulation model. After achieving the sufficient level of validity, the right upper limb model with malunion of a distal radius fracture was made. Volar tilt and radial inclination deformation were modeled by rotating the distal radius fracture component around the center of gravity. As a result, combined malunion model with 25 degrees of volar tilt and 15 degrees of radial inclination reduced the range of motion by 26%.
